Chris Hemsworth (on August 11, 1983) grew up in Melbourne and later moved to Phillip Island, which is also in Victoria, Australia. Chris is the middle child of three brothers, with an older brother Luke and a younger brother Liam, both of whom are also actors. Hemsworth grew up in an artistic family. His mother, Leonie, is an English teacher, and his father, Craig, worked in social services. His family moved to a small town in the Australian Outback when he was 8 years old, where they lived for several years before returning to Melbourne.

Hemsworth attended Heathmont College in Melbourne and later attended high school at Phillip Island in Victoria, Australia.
